Wheaton, IL – December 09, 2015 – Fresh off her multiple top 3 finishes at the Pet Pro Classic, Cristyn Zloza (Head Groomer), with fellow groomer Noel Lounsbury, of The Spotted Paw Shop, headed to Groom South Pet Grooming Competition in Gatlinburg Tennessee. Both, Cristyn and Noel, competed in multiple classes, ranging from, Large Poodles, Small Poodles, Mixed Salon Styling, and All Other Purebreds. Cristyn finished 1st with Brandy, the Bichon Frise in All Other Purebred, and 3rd in Small Poodles with Chip, the Mini Poodle. Noel finished 2nd with Sugar the Bichon Frise in All Other Purebred, and 3rd in Large Poodles with Sophera, the Standard Poodle. “Another great performance by Cristyn, and a great start for Noel. Both are very talented and I look forward to many more top 3 placements in the future” Michael Zloza, owner of Spotted Paw, commented.

This is Cristyn first placements in the intermediate division after moving up with 18 placements, including a group 3 placement, from the previous competitions. This was Brandy, the Bichon Frise, seventh time placing in the top 3 and her second 1st place finish over the last year. For Chip, the Mini Poodle, this was his first time in the ring with Cristyn, and a great start coming in 3rd. Cristyn was accompanied by Noel, a fellow groomer at Spotted Paw, for her first time competing. With this first time in the ring, Noel gained some invaluable experience, which also was rewarded with her taking 2 top 3 placements. Sugar, the Bichon Frise, enjoyed her first time competing, making a good impression with a 2nd place finish. For Sophera, the Standard Poodle, she was in good form again earning her 2nd top 3 placements.

“It was an excellent way to start off in intermediate division. All the mentoring and practicing is starting to pay off” Cristyn said, she went on further to say “I am also excited and proud of Noels performance for her first time in the competition ring.” Noel, in high spirits after the wins added, “This was a great learning experience, that also helped me understand more of the atmosphere.” This was the 3rd showing of Groom South Pet Grooming Competition since its inception in the Knoxville / Gatlinburg area. It is the last non-invitational of the year, and the final stop for those looking to gain a couple more points for the Groom Team USA standings.
