Wheaton, Il, – September 19, 2015 – Spotted Paw Salon is proud to announce the results from the most recent Groom Expo grooming show and competition for our head stylist Cristyn Zloza. Cristyn competed in multiple categories from Salon Freestyle, Poodle, and All Other Purebreds. Cristyn made her mark this time in finishing in the top 3 for Salon Freestyle. Cristyn’s 3rd place finish came on this previous Saturday competition, where she groomed Quinn the Poodle mix. This being Cristyn first time at Groom Expo, and due to the size of the show, her field of competitors at times was over 20 deep, this signifies Cristyn’s placement as a big accomplishment. For the mixed Poodle Quinn, it was his fourth time in competition, first time at Groom Expo and his first top 3 placement.

“Being able to participate in Groom Expo was an exciting opportunity” Cristyn stated, “Getting to compete at show this large, with so many great groomers from all over, challenges me to excel and really show off what I am capable of.” Groom Expo is the world’s largest grooming show, welcoming thousands of pet professionals to the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania, every September. Groom Expo hosts dozens of educational seminars, exciting grooming competitions, and a weekend packed with extra events to meet and mingle with fellow pet professionals. Groom Expo is a must hit for anyone on the competitive circuit, drawing in the world’s best groomers competing for points to place on Groom Team USA.

“Spending time with some of the best groomers from all over the world, learning tips, and best practices can be, at times, even more exciting than winning.” Cristyn replied when asked about her win. ”Each show I learn another piece of what makes the perfect groom, from how to perfect the angles of a trim, to techniques in creating certain shapes or pattern and so on. Every show, and each new tip helps me to become a better groomer, not just in the ring but to our customers at Spotted Paw.” With this Cristyn strives to pass on this knowledge to help make sure that every groomer is able to meet or exceed their customers expectations at Spotted Paw. Cristyn has now achieved 10 placements in her 3 years competing, and looks to continue on her success as she strives toward her end goal of one day competing on Groom Team USA.
